An online roundtable on the Hepatitis Delta awareness campaign in Germany was held on 11/25/2021 from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

As part of our pilot project "Hepatitis Delta: Educate - Understand - Test", various stakeholders from the fields of medicine, health policy and culture met to use their expertise to raise awareness of the viral disease hepatitis delta and to call on as many people potentially affected by hepatitis delta as possible to get tested.

Mr. Achim Kautz, CEO of Kautz5 gUG, opened the Round Table with a short welcome and an introduction to the topic.

Mr. Chuluunbaatar, Embassy Counselor and Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Mongolia, highlighted the seriousness of this disease and the high prevalence in Mongolia and welcomed the support of the Mongolian Embassy for this project in his speech.

The speaker of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Natalie Maltzahn-Jarck, gave an insight into the BIS 2030, a strategy of the Government for the containment of viral hepatitis. Dr. Maltzahn-Jarck pointed out that the project Hepatitis Delta: Educate - Understand - Test is in the context of BIS 2030. Advancing Hepatitis D education and testing is an important concern here.

Mr. Darisuren Anhlan, PhD at the Institute of Virology of the Westfälische Wilhelms-University in Münster explained the epidemiological and medical aspects of hepatitis delta.

In a final speech, Mr. Achim Kautz once again presented the pilot project Hepatitis Delta: Educate - Understand - Test in detail.
